Zipp Factory Build: Chromag Surface Ti AXS with 3ZERO MOTO
Rugged trail riding is the entire point of this Chromag Surface Ti hardtail with Zipp 3ZERO MOTO. Available directly from Chromag, this beauty features long front end geometry, slacker head angle, steep seattube angle, short chainstays, and low BB height, all tuned for longer travel (150mm). The frame has the latest in hardtail tech. Shifting and dropper post are wireless thanks to SRAM Eagle AXS™.
For wheels, Zipp’s 3ZERO MOTO™ uses a single-wall rim design as the optimal approach for stiffness and compliance for an enduro/trail wheel, qualities that are especially beneficial to the aggressive hardtail rider. These wheels provide hardtail riders with a suspension-effect thanks to Zipp’s MOTO Technology. We call one of the key features “ankle compliance”— Imagine a runner rounding a sharp turn, the ankle naturally flexing to maintain grip as the runner leans. The rim can locally flex to stay parallel to the ground during cornering, which increases traction much like a human ankle. This ability to twist locally allows it to deflect during single bead impacts without the rider getting bounced offline.
