SRAM products used: SRAM-Quarq Power Meter

Zipp products you use: Zipp 840 tubular, 650c disc and 404s for racing, 303s for training, Service Course stem, VukaAero, Vuka R2C shifters, carbon water bottle cages, Tangente High Performance Cork Brake Pads.

Favorite SRAM product and why: I love my Quarq power meter. Training and racing with power has helped to elevate my game. I am able to pace out the Ironman bike leg so that I can absorb my calories on the bike and then run a strong marathon.

Favorite Zipp product and why: Zipp Tangent Tubular Tires. Nine years of racing and NEVER a flat!

Do you train with a SRAM-Quarq power meter? Yes, and racing too!

What is one surprising or helpful thing you learned about yourself from training and/or racing with power? I would typically ride way too hard in the first 90 minutes to make up time lost in the swim. Racing with power has helped me to pace out my power and effort over the 112 miles, ride a strong second half and consistently run sub 3:10 off the bike.

You’re stranded on a desert island and you have to choose one of each of the following:

One album? On an island, would have to be Jimmy Buffett

One candy? Dark Chocolate

One vice? Margarita to go with the Island and Jimmy theme!
