Omega Pharma -- Quick-Step

Determination, teamwork, reciprocal help, respect for teammates and opponents, and the will to win. These are the characteristics of the Omega Pharma® — Quick-Step® Cycling Team and each of its members, be they cyclist or staff member. This is a group of 69 people who aim for the same goal: to create a team that is united by solid principles and by the same desire to be the best in all competitions.

For 2012 the team has a number of changes, all designed to position the team for growth and success. The management has been strengthened with new professionals being added. The team is balanced, competitive in every way and with a more international dimension. The arrival of 12 new athletes, including Tony Martin, Levi Leipheimer, Peter Velits, Bart Grabsch and the new deals signed with reliable and experienced riders such as Tom Boonen and Sylvain Chavanel make Omega Pharma — Quick-Step Cycling Team one of the most talented and competitive teams in professional cycling.

All the riders have been carefully selected based on their athletic skills and their will to give their contribution to a winning group. It is a group of athletes who will work for their teammates and themselves, and who are ready to make sacrifices for the group.
The team is projected into the future thanks to continuous investments in technology and research and development, aimed at providing it with all the needed support to optimize both the individual and collective performances.

A high-performance center named the Bakala Academy is in the process of being built in the university town of Leuven, Belgium. The Academy will be equipped with leading-edge technology and equipment, and it will enable a more scientific approach to training and athletic development. The objective will be to create a center of excellence to promote innovation and education in cycling, as well as contributing to the development of sports within an international, cultural and economic perspective. The Academy will provide high-quality services for the team, but the entire cycling movement will be able to benefit from it. Research and innovation will inspire the Academy, thanks to the support and the quality of products that technical partners will provide as well.

The team will also aim to increase its visibility and popularity as well as that of its partners in the eyes of stakeholders, team supporters and the cycling world in general. The team management has put into motion numerous initiatives in terms of both communication and marketing (online and offline) and it will stage events with the objective of raising the team’s profile and increasing the team’s popularity, in order to create an internationally recognized brand.
