ZIPP ATHLETES |
||
Zipp® is proud to partner with the world’s top pro triathletes, cyclocross racers and road teams. Riding Zipp wheels, bars, stems and seatposts, these incredible athletes succeed in the world’s biggest races -- the Tour de France, Paris-Roubaix, world cup cyclocross events and the Ironman® World Championship in Kona and more. Beyond inspiring performances and stellar results, our sponsored professionals provided Zipp with a steady stream of precise feedback and on-the-road testing that is invaluable in our unwavering quest to build the world’s best wheels and components.
Featured Triathlete: Sebastian Kienle
New Zipp athlete Sebastian Kienle is a physics student who loves working on bikes, learning bike tech, and shredding triathlon courses. In 2012, the young German was victorious in the 70.3® World Championship and finished an impressive fourth in Kona despite a flat tire. He lists the lure of the competitive advantage of the Super-9 Carbon Clincher Disc as one of the reasons he joined Zipp’s roster. He’s one to watch, for sure.
Featured Road Team: Team MTN-Qhubeka
Team MTN-Qhubeka aims to provide opportunities for African riders to excel at the highest levels of the sport while promoting Qhubeka, a South African non-profit organization that provides bicycles to rural children in return for work done to improve their communities. Qhubeka – an Nguni (Zulu, Xhosa) word that means “to carry on,” “to progress” or “to move forward” – is a beneficiary of World Bicycle Relief. The team burst into top-level European racing with an incredible victory at the rain-and-snow-soaked at the 2013 Milan-San Remo in Italy. |
