Time is right for Carbon Clinchers
As the clock ticked down on the cycling season, German Tony Martin of the Omega Pharma – Quick-Step Cycling Team collected his remarkable 12th time trial victory of the year at the Chrono des Nations in France.
Martin rode Zipp Carbon Clinchers, just as he did when he won last month’s UCI World Time Trial Championship. He covered the 57.03 km Chrono des Nations course in 1:10:48 – 48.3 km per hour (about 30mph). Teammate Sylvain Chavanel, the French national TT champ, was 45 seconds behind Martin in third.
In the women’s race, American Alison Tetrick of Team Exergy TWENTY16 finished second, 43 seconds behind Hanna Solovey of the Ukraine. Tetrick also relied on Zipp Carbon Clinchers, an 808 Firecrest front paired with a Super-9 Disc.
Zipp Carbon Clinchers were also the go-to choice for top pros at this month’s Ironman© World Championships, including women’s champ Mirinda Carfrae and men’s podium finishers Luke McKenzie (second) and Sebastian Kienle (third). Kienle also ride Zipp Carbon Clinchers en route to his recent Ironman© 70.3 World Championship.
Zipp Carbon Clinchers provide supreme aerodynamics, power transfer, stiffness, lightweight and durability with the convenience – pick the perfect tire for the course and weather conditions -- and low rolling resistance of a clincher.
